This blueprint will be the outline for the computer
consultation presentation. Outlines do not need to take the traditional
form that was emphasized in high school. Just consider the important
points and break them into parts.
Important Guidelines for an Outline
Determine what the audience needs to know.
Computer consultation experts will need to decide what
points are essential for the presentation. If some data is not necessary
for a successful presentation, omit it.
Members of the audience can always ask questions to
clarify any issues not covered.
Do not use too much information.
Too much information can create an overload for the
audience. At some point, they will either stop listening or just not
understand.
Provide only the most important information. Create breaks
between pertinent points by adding stories or quotes.
Include three to seven main points.
A computer consultation presentation should include three
to five points. Seven should be the absolute maximum. The time frame of
the presentation should be taken into consideration.
Typically, a half hour presentation should include three
points. Again, information overload can occur. Members of the audience
will not remember the important topics.
Reorganize the outline.
Once the outline has been formed, reorganize it. That's
right. Some of the important topics can be combined into one major point.
The use of Headings and Sub-Headings are a common method.
Once the outline is prepared, the writing of the computer
consultation presentation will flow much more smoothly. The research has
been done.
Using outlines when preparing a computer consultation
presentation is an extremely useful tool. Determine what the audience
needs to know, use only vital information, and include three to seven
topics.
Once the outline is established, reorganize it to ensure
it is the best it can be. A well-organized outline translates to a
well-organized presentation.
